Unable to use Access - Corrupted?

Leif

I have an Access 2003 db that is no longer accessible. I've tried JetComp
and I've tried an import of the bad database. Those do not work.

By searching the web I found two products that will restore my data. I can
move the data into a backup copy of the database. From the demo they both
seem to work. They are both $299. They are:

Advanced Access Repair
and
Accessfix

Does anyone have experience with these products? Does anyone have an
alternate solution? Thanks.

Hi,
what do you mean with: "no longer accessible"?
Do you get errors? Does it not open at all? Did anything happen/change since
it was working? Try to describe a little more.
Do you have a backup of the db?

Good luck

I tried Accessfix and it worked better on my file., the guys that sell
it seem a little more "corporate" than the others if your the type
that cares about where you send your credit card info. they seemed
pretty good with support tell them about your problem

Its really odd. I get no error messages. Access comes up, but there is no
connected database. The same happens if I try to create linked tables. No
error messages are given, its like it just ignores my entry.

FYI, I purchased Advanced Access Repair (AAR). They both are the same price
($299). Both recovered the same number of records for my tables (I checked
that by using their demo versions). I selected AAR since they have
relationship and index recovery, and also can recover deleted records (not
needed now, but perhaps in future).

Unfortunately, I found that text was not recovered if it was proceed by an
ASCII bullet character (ASCII code 149). I assume they probably have code
that does not recover after ASCII 128, thinking it is corruption. They did
not fix the software, but they did refund my money. In the meantime, I did
check the Accessfix demo, and it does recover the text.

Regards,
Leif
