The link was Microsoft Office Online;Search: PowerPoint 2003 assistance;Brand
your slides with a background or watermark-#8. I tried the bottom arrow (I
was using the other side arrow!) and this is where I continued and was
successful. I can get a background on my flyer now, by selecting Apply To
All this will put it behind my already configured flyer. The only problem I
have now is I have to make it transparent because the clip art is too dark
behind the flyerlettering. When I make it transparent (right-click the clip
art,Format Picture, Picture tab, Color box, Washout), Then it is too light of
a background!

Instead of using Washout (or even after applying the Washout option), use
the brighness and contrast options on the Picture toolbar to tweak the
color. Choose View|Toolbars|Picture to turn on the Picture Formatting
toolbar if it doesn't show up automatically when you select a picture.

I suspect a couple clicks on the "less brightness" option will probably do
what you need.

Echo S: Thanks, using the brightness/contrast was very helpful.
