unauthorized email

My Outlook has no emails in the outbox, but every other
day or so it will say Sending 1 of 9, 2 of 9, etc. But,
nothing shows up in my Sent folder.

I suspect I've got a worm or something. I have anti-
virus protection.

Anybody know anything about this?

One *POSSIBILITY* can be that some people have sent you mail with return
receipts. You can configure e-mail in Outlook to notify you when someone has
received or read a letter. When they receive the letter, Outlook
automatically sends them a e-mail basically saying "XXX has received e-mail
YYY". It won't show up in your sent items folder, since it's done as an
automatic process.

If you see the message, one thing you can do, is to temporarily disconnect
yourself from the network, and look in the Outbox. The disconnect from the
network will stop any outgoing messages, and then open the Outbox and see
what's in there.

Again, you COULD have malicious software (worm, virus, etc...), I'm
certainly not saying that you don't. I'm just offering a couple other things
that it COULD be.

Dante,

Is there any way I can disable others from getting read
receipts?
