Unchanged pages published

Even though I've checked "publish changed pages only" in
FP 2002, all UNchanged *.doc and *.ppt files publish each
time. Any ideas why FP2002 thinks they're changed?

How did these files get into your local web, did you import them in the web
via FP import function?

Do you ever modify them outside of FP in the application that created them?

I didn't import them -- just copied them to the web
directory and have links to them so people can download
them. No, they aren't modified outside of FP either.

All items need to be imported into the current open FP web prior to being
used (link to).

Do this, with FP closed, from Windows Explorer copy the .doc and .ppt files
to your desktop or a folder on your desktop, then open the web in FP and
delete these same files. Then do Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks.

Next with the web open in FP, open the folder on your desktop, select all of
the files, then drag-n-drop (same as importing) them into the current open
web, then verify or create the links to them. Then do a Tools | Recalculate
Hyperlinks.

Next do a complete publish to the live site, then turnaround and do Publish
with Change Page only selected.

Thereafter, FP should not publish them, unless you have made change to them
(outside of FP, and then re-imported them into the current web)
