"Uncombining" Text

Question:
In cell A1 I have a name "John Smith". How can I move "Smith" to cell A2 so
that I can sort by first or last name.

Try using 'text to columns' located in the Data menu. Follow the wizard and
make sure you select space as the deliminter.
