Underlining

I am having trouble with underlining a number and text in the same paragraph e.g
1. I HEREBY (these words and the number need underlining) but I only seem to be able to get the words to underline. Also I do not want the next line to indent under the "I hereby" but when I carriage return everything moves

Can anyone help me create a style for thi

Thanks

Word is numbering your paragraph automatically, so the '1. ' ceases to be
part of the text of the paragraph; hence the underlining doesn't apply to
it. Autonumbering also sets the paragraph to a hanging indent, which is why
the text moves. You can switch off automatic numbering through Tools >
Autocorrect ('Automatic numbered lists' is the one for your purposes, but
look through all the options -- there are probably others you do or don't
want, or at least should know about).

You can also reverse any single autoformat change by pressing ctrl-Z (undo)
immediately after the autoformat is applied.
