undo and redo in Visio

I am unable to use the undo and redo edit features. Have checked
tools/options/general tab and can confirm that number of undo and redo
settings are greater than 0.

Is this for all diagram types or just one in particular? Some addons
limit the operations that can be undone.
Can you create a blank basic block diagram, add a square and undo
adding the shape?

Thanks Paul,
I have had the problem developing process diagrams using the flowchart
icons.When I tried your suggestion to create a new diagram with basic block
shapes all was well. I then went back to my flowchart diagrams and could not
get them to accept undo commands until I raised the stencil list of icons
again, but this time for flowcharts. I selected an icon and inserted it into
the diagram - and undo worked. I then removed the stencil window and all of
my flowchart models are OK now and accept undo/redo.

Similar, but not quite the same and I was unable to creat a new thread.

If I open more than four process maps in visio, "undo" and ctrl Z stop
working, this also happens if I've been in process charts for a few hours.
If XL is open it may occur earlier.

After working on a big process and making hours of effort, if the whole
diagram is accidentally selected instead of a shape and I hit delete
frustration abounds when "undo" doesn't work
