Unghosting of SharePoint Services Pages

I want to use SharePoint Services 2 to manage a local intranet. I've got
about 10 sites, a main and one for each department. I've heard that when you
edit the SharePoint Services pages in Frontpage 2003, the page becomes
unghosted.

What exactly does this mean and how will it affect my local intranet sites?

You have landed in the PowerPoint newsgroup. You might want to ask this same
question in the SharePoint NG. here is a good starting point
