Ungrouping a SmartArt Graphic/ changing text box size

Is there anyway to ungroup a SmartArt graphic? I need to add significant
amount of text in each text box, adjusting the size of each box to
accommodate it. This causes all other text boxes to change sizes and move
around, seemingly irrationally. It becomes an endless back and forth until
everything is aligned correctly-- extraordinarily frustrating and not
particularly usable. Ideally I would like to use the format and then ungroup
the graphic so I can move and adjust easily. Is there anyway to do this??!!

I have tried to copy the graphic and paste it, but it only pastes the text,
not the graphic!!
