Unicode problems on Office XP 2002

Hi. I was trying to copy some languages (Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Gujarati
etc) from the Internet and paste it into Word. I have Office XP (Word 2002)
and Windows XP SP3. It doesn't paste the way I see it on the web. I have the
Unicode font ARIALUNI.TTF and I thought Office XP would show the fonts
correctly. I tried to reinstall Office XP but it gives an error msg "this
patch package could not be opened........." I have the Windows Installer
Cleaner to "remove" it but I'm not sure what that does or if I'll be able to
reinstall and if it will rectify the Unicode problem. Any suggestions?

Hi Raj,

If you are still interested in resolving this issues, try the following steps:
1) Start -> Control Panel -> Regional & Language Options -> Languages
Check: (Install files for complex scripts ..... ) & (Install files for East
Asian languages)
Restart system. This should solve the problem. If it does not.
2) Start -> Control Panel -> Regional & Language Options -> Region options
-> Select the appropriate language from the drop down list. If this also
does not solve the problem, check the source from where you are copying this
tect.
3) If the source is accurate and methods 1 and 2 does not work, feel free to
email me.

Thanks,
Vinay
