Uninstall MS 2003 from Microsoft Vista

I purchased a new Windows Vista computer, but did not have the money to
purchase a new Microsoft Office suite, so I used the Microsoft Office 2003
Student and Teacher's Edition that I had. Now I have purchased a new 2007
Microsoft Office suite and have tried to uninstall the Microsoft 2003 suite,
but to no avail. I keep getting an error message and can not uninstall the
2003 suite. What do I need to do? Jim

Installing Office 2007 should give you the option to upgrade, doing so will
remove the 2003 components included in your 2007 version

The package patch could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to
verify this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.
