Uninstall Office 2003 Basic to install on another computer

I want to uninstall Office 2003 Basic from computer#1 so as to install it on
computer #2; I want to uninstall Office 2003 Professional from computer #2 so
as to install it on computer #1. The purpose is to get PowerPoint and
Publisher from #2, where they are never used, to #1, where they will be. (1)
Can I do this and be able to fully register and activate all features of
each, although each of the CD's has been installed, registered, and activated
already? (2) Is the process likely to damage or endanger my
Word/Excel/Outlook files on either computer during the transition? Thanks!

Hi Robin,

Office 2003 Basic Edition is an OEM (new computer) only
edition and is licensed to the machine where it was activated
rather than to an individual. Office 2003 Professional edition,
if a retail copy can be moved or installed on a desktop and laptop,
if OEM, then also licensed only to a specific machine.

You should always back up files before doing any uninstall or
install, but generally your personal files should work with either
edition's where the apps are the same.

Thanks, Bob--this was very helpful! I'll just get a stand-alone PowerPoint
for computer #1, I guess. I appreciate your response to my post.
