Hello - I am running Office for Mac 2008 - but I also have Office for Mac 2004 on my computer (although it isn't ever used anymore).

Is it safe to use REMOVE OFFICE and remove Office 2004?

Thanks Diane. Just to be sure - can I upload a Screen Capture of what's sitting in the Trash before I kill it?

Yes, and if your are unsure, you can create a folder and drag the files out
for safe keeping.

Thanks Diane - how do I upload a Screen Capture to you?

You can post a screenshot link using a service like ImageShack. ImageShack
is an easy-to-use free media hosting service. It can be used to upload
images. Registration is not required in order to upload files.

The Custom Dictionary might be useful. You can open it and copy the contents
into the new Entourage 2008 Dictionary, or just replace the file with the
older one.

"~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Custom Dictionary"

The jp.topoftree.tree/plist doesn't seem to belong to Microsoft.

The good thing about preferences, if you delete them, the application will
create a new one with default settings.

One important file is the Normal Template ("Remove Office" does not touch
this file). It's now stored in the Microsoft User Data folder in Documents.
If you've done a lot of customizations, this file is one you don't want to
delete.

The Normal Template contains toolbar customizations for Word as well as the
default settings for every new Word document not based on another template.

Other than checking the dictionary file, you are safe to delete.
