uninstall office 2007 beta

I still have office and outlook 2003 installed (I think, it's in the program
list) but need to uninstall 2007 before it expires

An e-mail from MS said that one has to reset al the document formats. How do
I do that? I know word became .docx suffix so I've renamed those to .doc but
what about excel, powerpoint and anything in Outlook

Equally i understand that i can't upgrade direct from 2007 beta to 2007 but
am not sure if that's true

thanks

Renaming the files won't do you any good. Those files are in a different
file format and renaming doesn't change that fact. If you truly want to
save them in the 97-2003 file formats, then you have to open each
document/presentation/spreadsheet and save it as such.
The email from MS was wrong. Files created with Beta 2 and Beta 2 TR in
the new file formats should open in the release version. It would be
prudent to save the files in the 97-2003 formats, but that shouldn't be
necessary. As for Outlook, there was no change in file format, so there
is nothing to save.
You have to fully remove the beta before you can install the release
version of 2007. If you want to use Outlook 2007, please make sure to
remove Outlook 2003 first (no two Outlook can be on the same computer).
