uninstall outlook 2000

Is it possible to uninstall Outlook 2000 without uninstalling Office 2000?
My Outlook has quit responding when I try to open it.

Yes, just use office cd to modify the installation, but you've repaired the
installation? tried opening in OL safe mode?

I did try the repair using the CD, but I have not tried safe mode. I know
how to get to safe in Win98 and XP, but this particular computer is Me. Is
it the same?
