Uninstalling MS Office for Mac

R

Robert McN

Hi, I recently got a Mac and for various reasons, I'm returning it to Apple.
The version of MS Office I have says that it is valid for three installs. I
don't want to return the software, but I do want to uninstall it, so that I
have not used up one of the eligible installs. How can I do this so as to
ensure that the eligibility has been restored?

You can't. Worst case scenario is that upon trying to install it a fourth
time, you may have to use the telephone activation and explain the situation
to a human being.

Hi Joanne,
Thanks for your reply. For some reason, your reply was identified as spam,
and I didn't realize until tonight that you replied. In any case, so I poked
around and found out that there was a means of uninstalling the software,
which I did. I presumed that there would be some notification send to
Microsoft, so that I'd get credit for the uninstall, but based on what you
say, I guess not. Seems ridiculous that they would limit the number of
installs and not allow you a credit when you try to play be the rules and do
an uninstall. Hopefully, someone at Microsoft will pay attention to this
comment.
Thanks again.
Bob
