I've downloaded the Office 2003 trial version which has just expired. I'm
trying to uninstall it but I can't seem to remove it through the add/remove
program option. what should I do? I don't have a disk copy either.

Q. How do I uninstall the trial from my computer if I decide not to
convert the software or I choose to purchase another Microsoft Office 2003
Edition?
A. It is not necessary to uninstall the trial if you choose not to
convert the software. However, if you choose to purchase another Microsoft
Office 2003 Edition (for example, Microsoft Office Professional Edition
2003) then it is recommended to uninstall the trial software prior to
loading the software. To uninstall the trial, you should follow these steps:

1.
To open Add or Remove Programs, click Start, click Control Panel,
and then double-click Add or Remove Programs

2.
Click Change or Remove Programs

3.
Scroll down until you find Microsoft Office 2003. Please note
that there may be nothing in the Change or Remove Programs dialog box that
indicates that the program is a trial.

4.
Click Microsoft Office 2003 and then click Remove, the program
will then run through the uninstall process

error message, tell us exactly what it says. Please don't paraphrase.

I have the same problem. The error message reads:
Add or Remmove Programs
This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package
exists and that you can access it,or contact the application vendor to
verify that this is a valid installer patch package.

thanks

Actually, I've tried this method but it does not work. It does not respond.
Upon pressing change/remove, it just reverts back to its original state.

I used the windows installer clean up utility and was able to do the
uninstallation although there are still some office folders present. I
reinstalled another trial version via download with new product key but it
can't seem to download updates. Did I cause registry key damage by doing so?
