Uninstalling Office 2007, operating system doesn't undersatnd lang

I have a free version of Microsoft Office Student 2007 in my Sony laptop. I
recently tried uninstalling it to free up space on the hard drive. When I did
this, an error message came up stating " cannot complete uninstall due to
operating system doesn't understand the language." I tried going into Office
2007 to change the language, but it doesn't allow me to do this. Does anyone
have any suggestions on how to remove Office 07 safely from the computer? Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
