Unique code to tasks

Hello again:

We want to associate on project server 2003 a unique code
for each task published. This code must be a unique
number, it can't be the same as another task on another
project.

Then we would like to have this code displayed on the
timesheet.

I would prefer not to use a customized field so that users
don't have to access the publish fields feature to make
the code appear on the timesheet, I would like to manage
this automatically.

Is there an existing field I could use for this?

I know there are some id tasks on the database that could
be used but how could they appear on the timesheet?

Does anyone have alternative ideas on how to manage this?
