Unique ID Predecessors

I am working with a master project in Excel. I created the Master project by
starting a new project, inserting other projects, and then saved as an .xls.
One field I need to use is the Unique_ID_Predecessors, along with the
corresponding Unique_ID. I noticed that the Unique ID Pred. does not
properly correlate with the predecessors as originally established in the
individual projects. When I opened the individual projects (vs. the Master)
I notice the unique fields matched (Unique Pred. aligns with the correct
successor task). I understand that when creating a Master project, the
Unique ID fields would have to change to avoid overlap, however I would have
hoped the Unique Predecessors Field also changed to match. This does not seem
to be the case. Is there anything I did wrong or could do to correct this?

Try inserting a column in your individual files that is either custom text or
custom number. Set a formula in the custom text as [Unique ID]. That will
stay put when you send it to the master... now you can use the "regular"
Unique IDs as before.
