Unique Ids for Master Schedules

We are encountering issues with Unique IDs in Master Schedules.

Sometimes when you open a Master Schedule, the Unique Ids appear as one
number--then when you open the Master Schedule again, the Unique Ids appear
as another number.

Is this changing of Unique Ids been a reported issue in the past with Master
Schedules as well as other schedules?

Thanks!

Are you talking about a master schedule created by selecting projects in PWA
then clicking the Project icon? If so, project builds a new master so all
unique ID's will be different.

Unique ID's within each schedule should never change.

Thanks Rob--

Yes, I am talking about Master Schedules but am talking about Master
Schedules that are linked to lower-level sub-schedules. So the Master
Schedules are on the Project Server and data is updated real-time based on
lower-level sub-schedule updates.

We do know that the Unique Ids in the Master Schedules will be different
than the lower level schedules. However, we are finding that the Unique Ids
in the Masters and changing - There is a Unique ID variance when printing the
Master Schedules and how they appear online in Project Server. Also, the
Master Unique Ids will appear one way when opening on Project Server and then
after closing the master and re-opening, the unique ids will appear a
different way. Hence, we are seeing weird things with Unique Ids in Master
Schedules.

Any ideas why this may be happening? Is it because the master schedules are
linked to the lower-level schedules?

Thanks!

Master schedules are not recommended in Project Server which is why the
ability to save a master schedule in project server is OFF by default. The
recommended way of seeing a consolidation is to select required projects in
the project center then click the Project icon and have Project build a new
temporary consolidation on the fly.

The Project Center itself shows a consolidation, so what information do you
need that PWA does not show?

Thanks Rod---

Yes, we did put Master Schedules in Project Server even though it wasn't
highly recommended (that is another discussion) but we just want to know why
the Unique Ids are changing each time we open a Master Schedule. Is there a
reason why they are doing that or is this just something weird we are
encountering
