University's Office 2002/XP Pro. installation failed OGA [0x80180101]

A

Ant

Hello,

I was updating my father's old Dell Optiplex Windows 2000 SP4 machine
today with updates for Windows, Office, SAV, etc. I installed the OGA
ActiveX controls in IE6.0 SP1 and it told me OGA failed the check (see
below for the copy and paste).

Here's the catch. This computer was given to him (lucky!!) by the
university/school when he retired/resigned a few years ago (in 2003
probably based of Office version). I don't know how the IT department
installed his OS (not OEM), software, etc. and if they ever had to
activate them. I am pretty sure this is a legit copy since why would a
school install an invalid one?

Is there a fix for this? I did not see any ways to activate again, but
is it wise to do that since MS might kill it if it is not valid (don't
have the original CDs/DVDs)?

Thank you in advance.

The EULA never appears when I start Office 2002/XP programs. Maybe it
did when the school's IT installed and tested it since Office is already
activated when I went to activate.

Thanks. "4. Insert your original Microsoft Office CD and launch an
application, e.g. Word or Excel." is going to be a problem since my
father no longer goes to that school anymore (for years). Not sure if
calling will work since they probably will ask for the hard copy
references, product key, etc. Grr.

Can I use another Office 2002/XP or does that have to be the same one? I
think I have a Dell Office 2002/XP Basic Business CDs (installed and
activated and had no problems with Office Update) at work.
