Unknown Doc Type

I have just received an email with an attachment that should be a word
document. When I tried to access it I get a message 'there is no program
associated with this file etc...' The type is .docx. I have tried in Word
and in Works without any success.

A note is also shown in the subject box after the subject - UNICODE (UTF-8)

Any suggestions would be welcome.

As an OO 3 user, there are issues at the moment with docx files.....

I only use OO in Linux Ubuntu and no problems here. I wouldn't know if
there is a problem with it in Windows. What issues are you talking about?

Formatting issues. Frames in docx files do not transfer easily to OO3.
There are other issues. Neither do macros or VBA although I don't use
either.

No wonder I haven't had any problems. All the docx files I get don't
have any of that.

OO has frames but they must be constructed differently.
The advantage of frames is that you can "anchor" them to a page so that
they don't move with the text..unlike text boxes which you can't anchor
and move if you insert text above them.
