Unknown error in Word 2003

I am getting the following error when trying to save a word 2003 document.

"Unknown Programming Error 0x80020009"

It looks like it has saved the document but when you reopen the doc it hasnt
saved.

Does anybody have any ideas what the error is referring too?

Any document? All documents? What have you tried so far (File Save, File
Save As, etc.)? Does the document have macros or embedded objects in it? It
it based on a custom template?
