When trying to delete an email in Outlook 2002 I get the message
"Unknown Error". Nothing else associated with the error message. Any
ideas on how to delete the email? Thank you.
The following applies only if Exchange is not the delivery location.
First, I'd delete anything I didn't need (other than the offending message,
if course), empty the Deleted Items folder, and compact the PST (right-click
the root of the PST in the Folder List, choose Properties, click Advanced,
then Compact Now). I'd then try to delete the offending item. If that
doesn't work, I'd run the Inbox Repair Tools (scanpst.exe) on the PST and
try again. If that didn't work, I'd create a new PST, make it the delivery
location, move all by the offending item to the new PST, and close the old
PST, deleting it from disk the next time I closed Outlook.
