I have an onboard copy of the origonal office xp disks-[full retail I beleive
but they are on drive C} -After installing money2004 and works 7.0 and
service pack and a share portal set up with local users on my machine and a
registry correction by nortan system works for errors it found --my system
some how???? went to a restore mode[nondestructive] When restarted I did an
HP registration as I was not the origonal owner of this computer- the owner
told me the xp copies were on board but he didnt have the disks anymore[ it
was installed and working fine] only one for money and works which was
currently not on -I had previously took ownership of the office copy and
notified microsoft [at that time the computer did not have a name registered
with it] when started all the office files were in place the owners account
not accessible and a new admin account created- owners docs in default file
all programs open but say unkown user uninstalled version I did try to run
the disk copies with what I thought I had written down was the product key
but that didnt work wrong number ?- the wmi stated was an nt account not xp-
Now I cant even get windows to run updates only tech support page office
update says no updates needed- I dont want to do a destructive restore have
tried removing sp2 and all updates and then redoing upgrades from copies I
saved - the help files tell me the product code is available on the file but
after they open stating as above the only option I have is to close the file
I cant read the file under premade docs of my own the id code is striped I
tried the registry under uninstall and really dont know what Im doin in there
so left alone -can any one tell me what to do I think the works word and the
new computer registration have something to do with the problem
