Unlocking images used in a Shared Document.

I have a spreadsheet that I use for tracking print production work, which we put jpgs in some cells as a visual aid for people who look at the status. Several of us share this document, but when I set it up as shared in excel, the jpgs freeze up. They will move down if a new line is inserted, if I cut/paste a row that an image is in, it doesn't show up when it is pasted. I also am unable to add images while it is shared. Is there a way to change this?
