unprotecting checkboxes

is there a way to allow users to check/uncheck checkboxes when the exce
spreadsheet is "protected"?

If your checkboxes are from the Forms toolbar, make sure that the cells
they're linked to are not locked (Format/Cells/Protection, uncheck the
"locked" checkbox).

You should then be able to check or uncheck the checkboxes.
