Unread marks preserved for different user (admin assistant)?

Hi all. I am not an Outlook user and was asked a question (by an executive)
about unread marks in Outlook.
Does Outlook have the ability to show their administrative assistant which
messages the executive has read? The assistants manage the mail of the
executives and do not have the login credentials of the execs, so they are a
"different" user using their own credentials. If it doesn't work, would it if
the administrative assistances logged in with the exec's credentials? Are you
aware of any corporate e-mail client that works this way?
Thanks for any information.

Version of outlook? Are you using Exchange server? Are the messages in the
mailbox?

Hi Diane:

Sorry to not be clearer. This is a conceptual question... I'm wondering if
there is any version that can do this. Yes, the assumption is an Exchange
server and I don't know Outlook well enough to answer your question regarding
the mailbox. An assistant would look at the exec's email and to do that I
assume it would be on the server?

Thank you for your response.
