unread messges but no unread messges

Running XP Home edition SP2 and Office 2003 SP3...when XP starts I get a 122
unread messages at log on...but there are no unread messages when I start OL
2003. how do I correct the incorrect log on info message ?

This "may" have started after office SP3 update ?

So you're using the Fischer-Price fluff Welcome Screen that shows an
e-mail count. That gets out of sync and is a long-time known issue ever
since Windows XP came out and decided to default to showing the Welcome
Screen.
