Unrecognized database format

Hi,

My previous post was little confusing, so I am rewriting my post again.

I am getting "Unrecognized database format" error on MS Access.

Let me give you the complete backgound information

The access file that I am getting this error is on a Windows Server 2003 SP1
and has Access 2002 (10.6501.6735) SP3 installed on it. For convenience sake
let call this server "Alpha".

I am logged into Alpha server.

Scenario-1
When I browse to the file location, Example: C:\temp\MyData.mdb and open the
file it opens with no issues. I can copy the file to a different location on
the server and can open it with no issues.

Scenario-2
I can also open the file by going to \\alpha\temp\MyData.mdb (temp is shared
with all the proper permissions) from the same server machine "Alpha'. But
when I copy the file to a different folder or to the same folder say
"\\alpha\temp\Copy of MyData.mdb", I get the Unrecognized database format
issue.

We have purchased an application that copies the mdb file from one location
to another (like I said in my second scenario) and does it through UNC name.
After copying the application fails to open the copied mdb file (the new file
that is created in the destination folder).

When I login to a workstation and mimic the scenario-2, I mean coping the
access file to a different location using the UNC name, we can open the new
file with no issues.

The issue is only when you try to do it from the server.

Did you come across this scenario before? Any help in this regard will be
appreciated. Thank you
