I am encountering a strange problem and I was hoping that someone
could shed some light on the subject. When users are logging into PWA,
they are logged on and a Windows Challenge Window appears asking them
to log on to the server. If they hit cancel, the HomePage loads but
the gifs (for the Outlook download and the PWA logo) do not. The same
thing happens when they go to a new page or refresh the page and when
the return to the same page. The curious thing is that they are able
to see ALL the information via PWA but have the annoyance of the
challenge window and the gifs not being downloaded to the page. The
problems goes away if the user is set as an Administrator on the
Project Server Machine. We have tried adding the user to every other
Groups such as PowerUsers and Guests and in every combination but no
luck. The browser setting are correct (everything enabled and the
automatic logon using current name and password as well as every other
possible option has been tried), the users have been added to every
group other than the Administrator groups, the Novell Logon has the
windows information in it (the correct domain/name is showing up in
the windows challenge). MMC was checked to see what options the
Administrator profile has versus the PowerUser and most of setting
were changed to test for it but to no avail.
They are on a 2 server configuration, they are also running a
development environment within their production servers (used the same
method as we use for implementing the sample database and multiple
instance within our laptops).
The Trusted Sites option is unchecked so you can use HTTP instead of
being required HTTPS
The client is using Novell and we are synching the Windows UID and
Password.
IE is set to the lowest settings.
I verified that the folder permission in the Server are correct.
Has any of you seen this before? Any ideas to try or check for?
