Unsubmitted timesheets for previous periods when reimporting project

We have Project Server 2003 SP1 and had to delete and reimport a
project due to some data corruption. We also use managed timesheets
and the timesheet approval features in PWA. We successfully reimported
the project-- the data problems were fixed, and time shows up correctly
both in PWA and Project Server for all periods. We had to use the
republish assignments and overwrite actuals when doing the reimport to
fix our problems.

Unfortunately, after we reimported the project, PWA now shows
unsubmitted timesheet messages for all the resources for that project
since the project start date. Their hours are all correct for those
periods. I've had someone go back and change their hours, resubmit
hours, approved them, etc. and the unsubmitted message goes away for
that period. However, because they just made their timesheet incorrect
by changing their hours, I had them go back and correct the timesheet
and submit it again. When I approve this change back to the original
time, PWA then adds the resource back to the list of unsubmitted
timesheets for that period.

Two questions:

Is there a way (without having people adjust their previous timesheets
to show incorrect hours worked) to make the unsubmitted timesheet
errors go away for those previous periods?

Also, is there a way to prevent this problem when reimporting
projects-- could we have done anything differently?

Thanks,

David

Yes, in 'customise project web access' turn off those managed periods to when
the timesheets were not submitted. This should remove the timesheet not
submitted message

Thanks for the reply. If you mean go into the "Managed Time Periods"
section of Customize Project Web Access, and change the Status of the
periods to Closed, I have already done that. We only have the current
and a few future weeks Open. Did you mean something else?
Thanks,

David
