Untimely delivery of mail

I am experiencing a strange issue where both internal and external email(s)
are not showing up in Outlook 2k3 in a timely manner. This happens randomly
and to various people. I have looked in message tracking and the messages
show to be delivered to the mailbox on time and the messages show up in OWA
immediately. I am running E2k3 servers and Outlook 2k3 clients.

Any Ideas?

Kathleen,
This issue presents itself to clients that are on the same subnet as the
exchange servers, so NAT/packet delivery are not an issue. Also, the client
receives notifications for messages that are actually delivered to the
mailbox but not the "missing" ones. Some of the messages can be several days
old when they finaly make it to the Inbox.
