Untraceable coupling to another sheet

Not entirely sure what the correct term in english are, since I'm usin
a Dutch version of Excel here at work.

I have the following problem:
In one of my sheets, as soon as I open it Excel asks me if I want t
update with changes made in a different worksheet.
Under "Bewerken->Koppelingen" (I think it would be men
"edit->couplings"?) there is one file listed. I want to get rid of thi
link.

I've tried searching ALL cells in all the sheets for a link to thi
file, but none is to be found. I've also checked if I could find som
sort of linked formatting, but to no avail.

Colleagues of mine also report often that they have thes
"untraceble/undeletable links/couplings"...

Hope someone can help me out :)

regards,

Maarte

Sometimes a Named Range may refer to an external sheet, or a button has
code assigned to it that resides in another spreadsheet. Could that be
the problem?

There is not a single line of VB code in the spreadsheet. I've tried
looking for all named ranges, but all I could find were some printing
ranges (ofcourse none directing to the other document).

I had this problem before also. What I did was I saved a back-up copy of the
file and then I deleted on sheet at a time until I was able to identify the
sheet or sheets with the problem. Once you narrow down where the link could
be it. Makes it easier to track, the link could be in a pivot table or chart
that may not be picked up in a search.

I have had that problem several times. If you do not want to see that
message anymore: Edit: Links: and turn off the start up prompt for
updating links
