Untrusted Site (local server)

I have an application that uses MS Access 2002. It is split into client
and host databases and the host, containing the tables, is on the local
server.

In Windows XP the client accesses the linked tables on the host without any
problem and Access can open the host database directly, again with no
problem. However, in Vista Home Premium neither function works. Any
attempt to access the host is met with this message:

"Microsoft Access cannot open this file.
The file is located outside your Intranet or on an untrusted site.
Microsoft Access will not open the file due to potential security problems.
To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible network
location."

This makes a monkey out of having the host on a central server for multiple
users. How can I get around it please?

This worked for me --

To trust your folder, click:
* Office Button (top left)
* Access Options (bottom of dialog)
* Trust Center (left)
* Trust Center Settings (button)
* Trusted Locations (left)
* Add new location (button)

That's fine for Access 2007 but, as I said in my original post, I have to
use Access 2002 and those options are not there.

I have Access 2002 also, and our IT guru here finally found the answer to
this same problem. Settings need to be changed on the computer that can't
access the database. Go to START>Control Panel>Internet
Options>Security>Local Intranet>click "Sites">UNcheck "Automatically detect
intranet network", and ensure 3 boxes below that ARE checked>click
"OK">click"OK"

I hope it works for you!
