Unwanted 2-sided border

A few of the pictures I have in a Word 2007 document have a thin border on
the top and on the left. How do I remove this partial border? They occurred
when I converted my 2003 document to a 2007 document. This border which is
only on the top and left side also shows when printing. thank you

I have the same problem. For some pictures I get these two borders (on the
top and the left side) and for some images there is no problem. I did not
convert the file from word 2003 to 2007, so this is not the problem.

Does anybody know how to solve this problem

I would be curious to know the differences, if any, between the images that
get the border and those that do not.

I have noticed that I get the black border with any .jpg files I insert when
I save the document as a *.docx file. If I add the same image to a *.doc
file the borders do not appear.

The best work around I've figured out is to insert two small rectangle
shapes, place them over the black borders, and format them to have a white
fill and white borders. This covers up the black border when you print it or
save it as a pdf.

But since this is time consuming, I'd be curious to know if anyone has a
better work around (and still save it as a docx.)

I too am looking for resolution to this problem. One user on another forum
posted:
1) Click the image so the format ribbon appears
2) click "Crop" on the right side of the ribbon.
3) Crop out the sections of the image that have the borders.

I ONLY experience after I import and save. This is clearly a Microsoft
issue, as you can change the "3D Format" (right click image -> Picture Format
-> 3-D Format) and the border can be manipulated even with ALL settings off.
This stinks.
