unwanted, Adobe, PDF toolbar

Every time I startup word, the Adobe PDF toolbar appears. I then
deselect it in the View-toolbars menu, but next time I start up, it is
there again. Does anybody know how I can stop this behaviour. (I have
never used this toolbar, and I have no use for it at all)

Sorry, I should have done a search. I see it is an old issue. However,
I wonder if there has been any progress with this problem.
