Unwanted capitalisation on pasting

I am experiencing that when I cut or copy a block
of 'normal' upper and lower case normal weight text and
then paste it back somewhere else in the same or another
document, the paste is very often being pasted back as
all capitals bold text. I have tried paste special as
Unformatted text or Unformated Unicode Text and that
sometimes solves the problem but not always. I have also
taken it via a Notepad paste and copy back into Word and
that nearly always solves the problem but again not every
time.

Any ideas please?

Hi Philip,

It sounds like the destination for the pasted text contains formatting
or your source text contains a paragraph mark which contains the
formats you are seeing. What version of Word are you using?

Dear Beth

Thank you for your interest. Been busy on other things
so apologies for delay. I am aware of the issue of
dragging formatting from the source document by including
the paragraph mark so I always work in the show all mode
and make sure I don't paste the paragraph mark. The
normal problem though is that I am bringing 'correct'
upper and lower case text into a document, which then
turns it into all caps, and also more often than not,
Bold. Where would I look in the format paragraph screen
of the destination paragraph to find the formatting that
tells the paste operation to turn the pasted text into
all capitals? I am using Word 2000.
