Unwanted email Notifications

D

David F-H

We are running Project Server 2007 (SP1) / SQL Server 2005. Our user is
reporting that she is receiving email notifications on her projects, even
though she has turned all Task Alerts and Task Reminders off under "Manage My
Alert's and Reminders" and also "Manage My Resource's Alerts and Reminders".
I have tested this out on our test server (same config as above) by turning
all Task Alerts and Task Reminders off, and have found that for one
particular project it seems to have no effect - ie. if I make a change, I
receive email alerts for the project / task. However, other projects seem to
behave properly (ie. no emails).
Is this a known problem (even with SP1 installed) ?

Hi David,

I was about to post a message just now and saw yours. It sounds
similar to our problem...slightly different scenario but same issue:
unwanted email notifications.

We have the same configuration as you (Project Server 2007 (SP1) / SQL
Server 2005) and PS is sending out Task Assignment emails even though
we are cancelling the Project Publish [pending approval] in the
Project->OnPublishing server-side event handler. The Task Assignment
emails should go out during the "OnPublished" event, surely not
"OnPublishing"

So, i do feel that there is an issue/bug with the Alerting in general
as it is blatently wrong that tasks are being assigned when no project
is actually being published.

Ben.
