Unwanted Gray Line on Print

Hi All,

This can't be as difficult as it appears but here it is. I have a template
with has some places where the user types in their own text as in this:

[Type Body of Letter] and [Type Title of Recipient]

The user clicks in those areas and type their own text. When the document
is printed, those brackets on either side are printed as light gray lines.
I have tried every setting I can think of in Word to suppress these. Oddly
enough, they don't appear on the Print Preview but they most definitely
print when the document is printed.

These are fields, not bookmarks. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can
do to suppress these?

I'm assuming that these are MacroButton NoMacro fields and the brackets are
part of the "prompt" text. No matter how you look at it, they shouldn't
print, especially if they don't show up in Print Preview. Can you send me a
sample doc to look at?

Hi Suzanne,

It's on its way. Thanks for offering to look at it :)

To report back (for closure and in case anyone else is reading with
interest), the gray lines seemed to be related to the editable areas of a
protected document. Since I'm unfamiliar with this type of document, it took
me a while to figure out that the problem seemed to be that the document was
only half-protected. A type of editing restriction had been checked and
editable areas added, but the "Yes, Start Enforcing Protection" button
hadn't been clicked to actually protect the document. When this is done (or
if the editing restriction box is unchecked) the lines disappear.
