Unwanted horizontal bar

When typing a mult-page document, an unwanted solid line appears and runs from margin to margin
Have found no way to delete it. It can be moved off the displayed page by displacing it with text, bit it still appears at the bottom when the page when printed. The line remains imbedded in Word and follows on all succeeding pages. I'm not a beginner, but also not a "techy." Any help would be welcome.

Swan,

Sounds like a paragraph border. Format>Borders and Shading>Borders and
click the "none" pane on the left hand side.

It's a paragraph border. For cause, cure, and prevention, see
