Unwanted quotes in Unicode.txt saves

I have a .xls spreadsheet that I need to save as a Unicode text file
tab delimited. When I do Excel adds quotes to certain strings. Fo
instance if I have a string in a cell with a comma like this 0,25 th
resulting string in the unicode text file looks like this "0,25".
have noticed that it does the same thing with strings that have othe
embedded characters like quotes and maybe periods.

I do not want these added quotes. How can I stop Excel from doing thi
addition. I'm using Excel 2000 on Windows 2000.
