Update Directory Cache Issue

D

DeepDoc1

"Please wait while Visio updates its directory cache" runs
about 2 minutes every time I go into Visio. Using Visio
2002 Pro, Win2K, SP 4, all OS & Visio updates installed
that I'm aware of, 2GHz, 384MB RAM, etc.

Visio didn't do this cache thing before, or if it did it
was very quick. Can't think of any changes on my system,
drawings located on network drive, looked for MS kb
articles with no success.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ha, I was just loggin on to check this issue.

One comment I saw the last time I tried checking it was to
set your Visio files folder as one that has no sub-
folders. Didn't work for me, but you could give it a try.

BTW, this probably happens because I'm usually logging on
as the System Admin (contrary to wise practices, but I
like to have everything at my fingertips), which means
that I have lots of folders in my browse list. You should
feel very fortunate at two minutes. If I want to work on
Visio, I plan it at least 15 minutes in advance.
