Update Project Progress - partially or "redo"

Hi,

I have these problems when updating project progress.
If a resource has sent hours for approval for 3 weeks, but
I want to update my project with hours for only the first
2 weeks but not for the third one, is there are any way to
do it. The reason for this is when we do our month end
(for example for January), we would do it first few days
of February. By that time a resource could already have
hours entered in timesheets for February, for the same
assignment, but I don't want to have them imported into
Project.

The second problem is once I update project with the hours
that resources have entered into timesheets, and let say
by mistake I delete some of those hours is there are a way
for me to get those hours again. It seems that I will be
able to do this only if a resource modified hours in the
timesheets and then sends an update to me.

Thanks,

Predrag

Questions 1: If you update your project from MSP instead
of Web Access by using the Collaborate->Update Project
Progress command you can enter a status date in
the "Incorporate Progress" task pane. Then just accept
and update using the instructions in the task pane.

Question 2: I have not tried this yet, but this is my
understanding of how to do it. From the menu select
Tools->Tracking->Snyc to Protected Actuals. This will
reset all of your actual work in your project to the
actual work that your team members sent you in their
timesheets.

Thanks for a quick answer to my questions.

For the Question 1, I did it the way you suggested, but
Project 2003 still updates the hours past the Status Date
and moves them to the project.

For the Question 2, yes that's exactly what I was looking
for.
