Update resource tables and OLAP cube

M

mike

My Current Cube Status says:

"The cube is currently being built."

This message has been there since 3/22. Today is 3/29.

In "Analyze project in Portfolio Analyzer" is says:

"Unable to access the Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Analyzer
OLAP cube.

The cube may not exist, or you may not have permissions to access the
cube. "

I tried to rebuild the cube using a time period of 1 day and clicked to
"Update Now". The error message i got was "Could not connect to the
OLAP Specified"

I checked the virtual server and noted that the OLAP Manager was
started. In fact I stopped it, re-started it, and tried to re-build the
cube again but received the same message "Could not connect to the OLAP
Specified".

I re-booted the server and when I went back to the admin page it still
says "The cube is currently being built."

Anyone been through this before and know what we should be doing at
this point.

Hi Mike,

It sounds like your Project Server doesn't know how to talk to your Analysis
Server. Try using the PSComPlus tool.

For more information about tools, see knowledge base article 839457.

Bob,

I found this error message "Error Number: 0x80004005" in our
application log.

I am going to fix that as directed and run the PCComTool.

I'll let you know what happens.

Mike
