updated included doc

i'm trying to update an included doc, but when i press f9 the information
that i changed is deleted. what am i doing wrong??

Are you opening the included doc and editing it, then saving it, or editing
the containing document? If the latter, you probably need to use
ctrl-shift-F7 to update the "source", i.e. the included document.
