Updated individual looses rights

I'm using MSP2003 w/admin rights.
When items/criteria are updated in PWA for an individual, that individual
will then loose all rights. How can this be resolved?

Can you please clarify, I don't quite understand your situation. Are you
updating an individuals group membership and they are loosing their access
rights?
