Updates to Project Plan

project plan doesn't get updated after I approve a task update from a resource.

How about publishing the project plan too ?
You need to do that so that changes are applied and published.

can you let us know what version of Project Server you are running and how
you update and publish you project? That info will help to identify the
issue.

marilyn, I have responded twice to your post already, but somehow my answer
does not show up on the community site. I have posted a request to Microsoft.
Lets hope you get this one :)

can you please provide more inforamtion. What version of Project Server are
you running. Can you please also explain how you publish your project. this
will allow us to help you more.

Hello Marc,

We are trying to implement Project Server. I have three team members on the
system working with a project that I uploaded to PWA from Project Pro 2007.
When team members submit updates (% complete), I can see the updates in PWA
and in Pro. In Pro, I accept the update, the Review doesn't display
anything, then it goes to a new window sayign there is GBUI error. Killing
that window and proceeding with the process, brings up a status box that says
the project is being saved and published in 0 seconds. This completes and
then asks if I want to see the Project. Click yes, but there are no updates.

In PWA the same thing. The status windon in "Update Requests and Errors"
indicates that all updates are approved and published. Viewing the project
in the project center or in Pro shows no updates.

The Activities updates works as advertised.

Any thoughts?

Good Morning Gary,

I used the project guide to build a couple and built a couple without.
Yesterday, none of them worked. Today, I am having luck with all but the
first one that I created.

The error in "My Queued Jobs" from yesterday and the days before states:

Reporting message processor failed The INSERT statement conflicted with the
FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_MSP_EpmAssignment_ProjectUID_TaskUID". The
conflict occurred in database

I have no idea why some of the projects are working today. I didn't change
anything and the sys admin says he didn't do anything either. Can you
explain the error statement so I can feel comfortable that I don't have an
intermittent problem?

Hello Marc,

I thought this BBS concatentated, but just in case you didn't see my message
to Gary, the error messages state: The INSERT statement conflicted with the
FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_MSP_EpmAssignment_ProjectUID_TaskUID". The
conflict occurred in database. Today, the updates are working on all but the
oldest project. I am afraid this might be an intermittent problem .. what do
you think?

PS Any idea why I have another resource name showing up on "My Tasks" in
addtion to my tasks?

Looks like currupted asisgnment record. Save the project as an mpp file,
delete the one on the server, and use Import Wizard to bring the project
back to the server. See if this fixes the problem.
