Newbie: My computer will not reboot after downloading and installing

I do not know what operating system you have but you might
try booting with a boot disk to get you to a C: and
type "scanreg /restore" to see if you can restore to a
previous date when everything was working.
a Second option would be to try to boot to "SAFEMODE" by
tapping the "F8" key during the boot process.
third option would be to use a recovery or repair disk if
you have one.
